June 11, 2013 - 3 Miles; 23:57
I got home from work today and Carrie had some Relief Society people over. I thought it would be a great time to get out of her hair and go for a quick run. I wasn't slated to run again until tomorrow, but I thought I would get it out of the way and take a day off later in the week. My intention was to only go for 20 minutes (10 out, 10 back), but that went out the window when I was almost to my turnaround at the 10 minute mark. I decided to keep going to the 1.5 and turn around for a full three. It felt really good on the way out, but not so much on the way back. I think that was partly because I set out on a 20 minute pace and ended up going for a bit more. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but an extra 4 minutes is a lot when I'm this early on in my running. I have a half marathon coming up in four and a half weeks on July 13th, and I really hope I'm going to be in shape for it. The longest run I'm going to do before then is only 5 miles, so hopefully the mileage is going to be enough.
